Visit the farm
Spring is here! Scroll down below to see all the ways you can visit the farm this season. Public ticketed tours begin May 1st and our first LIC Open House will take place on May 18th. We also have some really cool classes and workshops coming up in our indoor space, so you can get your farm fix all through the chilly months!
OUR FIRST OPEN HOUSE WILL TAKE PLACE ON MAY 18TH. Every Saturday May through October we host an open house at our Flagship farm in Long Island City, Queens (directions are here). There's no need to register in advance and no charge–just come on by between 10am and 4pm, and you can visit the chickens, buy some farm-fresh produce, get your hands dirty alongside our farm team, or simply enjoy the fresh air! We also regularly host fun activities during these open houses! Check our calendar for more info on what's coming up this month.
TICKETED TOURS BEGIN MAY 1ST - but are available to book starting now. Ticketed tours take place every week from May - October. Wednesdays at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, 10AM & 11:30AM and Saturdays at Long Island City, 11AM & 2PM Tours must be booked in advance, last approximately 45 minutes each, and are intended for individuals and groups of no more than four (4) individuals; for larger groups, please click here to book a private tour.
Workshops take place several times each month at our Brooklyn Farm. Check out our Events Calendar, and grab a seat at the table to learn a new skill; a natural dye artist will show you how to create the perfect color from plants growing along NYC sidewalks. Or, perhaps it’s a Brooklyn Beekeeper who’ll inspire a new hobby. We bring in a rotating roster of our favorite innovative instructors who teach our core workshops throughout the year; Intro to Urban Agriculture, Beekeeping, Mushroom Cultivation and Floral Design are always popping up on the calendar, among others!
Yoga takes place each Monday staring in June from 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM. Sarah Schumann, Brooklyn's favorite yoga teacher, leads a 60 minute, all levels asana (yoga postures) practice. Each class will begin with a brief centering, a collection of ourselves in breath and space, and will gently evolve into a flow of movement and meditation. In community, we’ll move, breathe and connect to our inner and outer landscapes. Classes are limited to 30 people and advance reservations are strongly recommended unless you have purchased a six-pack class pass. Drop-ins may be turned away upon arrival if classes are full. We do not provide mats. ALL CLASSES TAKE PLACE RAIN OR SHINE.
Our 2019 Summer Dinner schedule is posted here. Tickets will go on sale in two batches in our May and June newsletters. Tickets for our events sell out quick so make sure you are signed up for our newsletter to be the first to hear about these events & please visit our upcoming events calendar for other great opportunities to visit the farm this season!
