FAQs

  • If you typically cook for more than 2-3 people throughout the week, we recommend two individuals from your house purchase a farm box each to double your weekly ingredients.

  • Our Chinese-focused CSA share has been custom grown based on feedback from participants. Each week, our farmers scan the fields to select crops that are most in season to go in your CSA share. In addition to selecting for seasonality, we prioritize crop diversity and vegetables that compliment one another. A typical share is made of of 6-8 items, and might look like:

One bunching green (ie choi sum, tokyo bekana, celtuce, aa choy)

Hardy brassica (ie cabbage, chinese broccoli, bok choi or kohlrabi)

One bunch of roots (ie carrots, shunkyo or daikon radish)

One to two fruiting crops (ie tomatoes, peppers, bittermelon, eggplant or cucumbers)

One allium (ie storage onion, scallions, leeks or green garlic)

One culinary herb (ie basil, garlic chives, coriander, shiso etc)

Of course, this varies depending on the season. Early shares are green and leafy, mid-season shares sway much more toward fruiting crops, and late season shares are made of more roots and hearty greens and brassicas. Share value fluctuates slightly each week, but we track this to make sure you are getting better value than one would get at a grocery store or farmer’s market for the same freshly grown local produce.

  • We wish we could make ourselves--and our veggies--available 24/7, but alas we cannot, so if you can't pick up during the window specified, our CSA share is not the right one for you. We do not allow late pickup, hold shares until the next day, or double up on shares to make up for missed weeks. A CSA share is a big commitment, and we want our members to be happy they enrolled. Remember, you can always swing by and shop a la carte at one of our farmers markets if you aren't ready to make a commitment to the full CSA share.

  • Yes! If you are out of town or unable to pick-up your share, you are welcome to send along a friend or family member in your place.

  • Great! We will have translators available for language support who are fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish and Bangla. We will also offer translated materials throughout the program.
