Come join Levi on a 90-minute walk to explore the diversity of nearby trees.

He will teach the fundamentals of winter tree identification and discuss the biology, ecology, historical and cultural relevance, and horticulture of the species encountered. Learn to observe trees in the dormant half of the year!

Our workshops and events are available at a sliding scale. We invite you to practice economic solidarity with your community and choose the ticket tier that makes most sense with your financial situation.


About Levi O’Brien:

Levi O'Brien has an extensive knowledge of trees, other plants, and wood, and is happiest when he's sharing his knowledge and passion with others. An ISA certified arborist, Levi is on faculty at the New York Botanical Garden, where he teaches classes on woody plants, horticulture and woodlore. He is also a guest instructor at various public gardens and arboretums in the NY/NJ and Hudson Valley areas, and has taught Dendrology and Entomology at SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry, where he earned his degree in Environmental Biology.
