Private Events Manager | she/her

Claire Mahler is never done exploring and learning. From working in a neurology lab to studying architecture in Copenhagen, painting murals in West Philadelphia to weaving textiles in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Claire embodies a playful mix of creativity and a sharp eye to building detailed organizational structures and is driven to learn the nuances of how everything works.

Claire’s favorite childhood spot was the local farmer’s market in Madison, WI. While many budding growers and cooks might be content to discover the joys of a perfectly vine-ripened tomato, Claire was curious to understand the science and art of what makes things grow, and how to transform plants into something spectacular.

After studying the impact that urban design has on the culture of those spaces at Bryn Mawr College, Claire spent her first years in New York in the boutique paper goods industry and as a lettering and design consultant. Returning to her interest in youth education for systemic environmental and cultural change, Claire joined the team at The Cloud Institute for Sustainability Education where she had the opportunity, amongst other duties, to produce workshops, conferences, and keynotes, and discovered that she delighted in the smooth execution of even the most complicated events and design of data collection to support the work on a larger scale.

Forging a home in the Brooklyn Private Events world, Claire honed her skills with the Gowanus Hospitality Group where, for nearly five years, she lent guidance to countless corporate and social clients as venue manager at 501 Union. Events production, Claire found, exercised her capacity to juggle endless details, satisfied her flair for aesthetics, and allowed her to connect with her community. She delighted in facilitating the celebration of life's important moments and building relationships to execute moments that make clients’ and vendors’ eyes sparkle.

Claire likes to spend her time out of the office in museums, on long walks, in the kitchen, and amongst friends, always with good music close at hand. She relishes a good fireplace gathering: from building a cozy-smelling blaze to toasting the perfect marshmallow–deeply golden with a tiny bit of char–she believes that flawlessly-executed plans are sweetest when shared with the ones you love.

  • Green-Wood Cemetery is my absolute fave for long, peaceful long walks through rolling hills among lush trees (and with the bonus of incredible typography!)

  • Harvesting fresh currants at my grandparents' house as a kid to have with homemade cake in the afternoon.

  • I'm holding hope for a kumquat tree in the greenhouse. (Favorite-smelling plants: peonies in full bloom, tomato leaves, boxwood, basil in the breeze on the farm.)
