We were so excited to welcome Egg back to the table for 2019. The team will be cooking up something they're quite famous for- a picnic dinner classic, fried chicken that is!
Chef Evan Hanczor is a man of principles and that’s one of the reasons why we love him so much. He believes that restaurants must also be a force for social good. When he cooks he’s not just doing it because it tastes good, he has a hope and a dream that every person who eats his food will feel satisfied, energized, inspired and resilient. Like us, he cares about both people and the planet. He works to improve soil (did you know that Egg also operates a farm in the Catskills?), and to support local farmers and purveyors. Ultimately the folks at Egg have a goal to make good, sustainably-raised and carefully produced food available to more and more people, and that’s a meal we can get behind.
Bottom line is that Chef Evan Hanczor will be cooking up some of the best fried chicken and biscuits you’ve ever had and WE ARE SO EXCITED. Add in a DJ, cold beer, NY state wine, and sunset views over the Manhattan skyline and you’ve got yourself one of the most memorable afternoons of all time.

The restaurant critics at The New Yorker and New York magazine recognize that Evan Hanczor’s commitment to local and heirloom ingredients and his strongly held values about sustainable agriculture are the foundation of his contemporary American cooking that puts him and his restaurant Egg in the center of the Brooklyn culinary renaissance. And while Hanczor is famous for the brunches he serves at Egg, he was equally celebrated for the sophisticated, seasonal farm-to-table food he prepared at Parish Hall and now reprises in the evenings at Egg. Brooklyn Oenology Winery (pron. ‘EN-ology’ or simply ‘BOE’), is a locally-focused winery based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, founded in 2006 by winemaker Alie Shaper. BOE extends the fundamental idea of terroir, which is essentially a combination of factors that create a wine’s sense of “place,” by incorporating the local agricultural, creative culinary, and art worlds.
In addition to sourcing New York grapes, BOE draws upon the Brooklyn and greater New York areas to create its identity. Each wine’s label showcases contemporary art by a Brooklyn artist and features a new piece of work for each vintage. They’re not just for viewing; they are double-layer, easy-to-peel stickers, so the customer can preserve the artwork. The tasting room also sells products from other artisanal New York state producers.
Leopard and Pear is a collaboration of Erin and Eric- both celebrated chefs who earned their stripes in the pastry world. Together, they’ve teamed up to create a premiere dessert and pastry company offering unique, interactive and experiential tables. They also have an 18th century inspired tea cafe and garden opening in summer- The Awkward Scone- where house blended herbal teas, fresh pastries and sandwiches all dance with subtle infusion of aromatic herbs and florals.
Born-and-bred New Yorker James Mulry has been DJing bars, nightclubs, and private events in and around the city for over 10 years. Versatile and experienced, James can read any crowd and precisely tailors his selections to match the vibe and energy of any party.
