SOLD OUT - Intro To Green Roofs

  • Brooklyn Grange Clinton Avenue & Flushing Avenue Brooklyn, NY (map)

Event Description
At this point, chances are good you've heard of a green roof.... maybe you've even seen one!
Green roofs are popping up all around the globe and slowly but surely covering our cities. What's the big idea?

Sure they're gorgeous, and that's probably reason enough, but why else have a green roof? Are there actual measurable benefits to the building, the city, the environment? Can you put one anywhere, any time? How much do those things cost?  And what's underneath those rooftop plants anyhow?

Gwen Schantz, COO of Brooklyn Grange, heads up our Design and Installation department and will go through the ins and outs of green roofing in NYC and beyond. She'll cover all the benefits, challenges, and options available for those rooftop oases and share Brooklyn Grange's experience greenroofing our city.

By the end of this workshop you'll have a sense of what it takes to green roof a space, large or small!  Before you know it you could have a green, serene rooftop of your very own.

This class will take place in our indoor loft space directly below our Brooklyn Farm. Detailed directions can be found by following the link below.

PLEASE NOTE: Unless otherwise specified, Brooklyn Grange will not provide credit or refunds for tickets purchased on our website for a workshop, dining event, yoga class, or tour.  Events take place rain or shine.
