What is it like to be an urban farmer? How does one cultivate crops hundreds of feet above the city streets? In our hands-on farming workshop, you’ll step into farm manager Michelle Cashen's shoes and get your hands dirty working the (rooftop) land.
By the beginning of June the farm is nearly all planted, which means the time is ripe for crop maintenance. There's always plenty of tasks on a farmer's to-do list, from compost flipping to weeding, tomato trellising to bed preparation. Whatever the day entails, there will be plenty of time for a Q+A session, and for the most important part of farmer's checklist - end of day snacks and libations!
This class will take place at our Brooklyn Farm. Detailed directions can be found by following the link below.
PLEASE NOTE: Unless otherwise specified, Brooklyn Grange will not provide credit or refunds for tickets purchased on our website for a workshop, dining event, yoga class, or tour. Events take place rain or shine. Please understand that buying a ticket to one of our events is no different from buying a concert ticket, theater ticket, or movie ticket.
