get involved!

Thanks for your interest in getting involved with the farm! There are so many great ways of doing so!

Interested in learning about farming? We offer workshops and classes in topics as diverse as Modeling an Urban Agriculture Business, Planning Your Urban Garden, Intro to Green Roofing, Intro to Beekeeping, and more!

We do not offer internships or apprenticeships, but we hire for various positions throughout the year. Most of our farming jobs open up in late winter or early spring. If we're hiring, that info will be available on our jobs page. If there aren't any jobs posted on our site, please do not send us unsolicited applications.

Additionally, for those looking to volunteer, we have a weekly open house on Saturdays at our flagship farm site, May 18th through October 26th, 2019, where you can jump in alongside our farm team and get your hands dirty!

If you're looking to engage in community service, check out one of the awesome non-profit farms in our community: East New York Farms!Youth Farm, or Red Hook Farms. Additionally, the Campaign Against Hunger has urban farms both in BedStuy, Brooklyn and Far Rockaway, Queens - they are looking for volunteers to help with everything from planting to harvesting to aid in their fight for food justice. Please contact Miriam Ehrlich at mehrlich@tcahnyc.org for more information. Based in Manhattan? Loisaida United Neighborhood Gardens (LUNGS) is a network of 50 community gardens on the Lower East Side that frequently needs volunteers for a variety of projects through the season for everything from basic gardening to carpentry. Email them for more info at info@LUNGSNYC.Org!

Whatever else you do, definitely sign up for our newsletter to stay up to date! We promise to send only the most exciting news, and never to share your info with third parties.
