Ever since she can remember, Dana has loved plants. But her desire to get her hands in the ground grew stronger as she traveled through Central and South America to work on agroecological farms. She continued to pursue this passion when she returned to the states, working on urban farms in Baltimore while getting her degree in Environmental Science. Seeing the importance of connecting people with the natural world, especially in an urban setting, led her to New York City, where she has been creating and tending to gardens since 2014. Working with Brooklyn Grange has allowed her to combine her passion for improving the environment and reintroducing native species by restoring and maintaining habitat. In her spare time, Dana tends to her extensive indoor plant collection, reads, does yoga, and likes getting into new hobbies, like ceramics!
