Last Happenings on the Roof and more Fall programming

Get your hands dirty in the soil before winter comes and learn about the fascinating microbes at work underneath our feet! Plus we're going live from the greenhouse this December!

Join longtime farmer and soil educator Molly Culver for this deep dive into the complex and inspiring world of minerals and living organisms that make up the earth's soil. Learning about soil (and plants) should be dynamic. Three classes will be held in a virtual classroom over Zoom and offer a balance of lecture, live video demonstrations, large and small group discussions, skill-building, and learning assessment through take home quizzes/assignments and in-class activities. Then we’ll come to the farm for a half-day of onsite work to put what we’ve learned into practice!

Help spread the word about our Workshop Scholarships!

When we started our education and workshop programs, we recognized that we needed to be able to offer our workshops free of charge for those whom the price points are inaccessible to ensure our learnings could be available to the entire community. Thus, came the creation of our workshop scholarship program! For the majority of the workshops we offer, there are scholarship spots available that cover up to 100% of the course fees.⁣ We really want to make sure these scholarships get used, so please help spread the word about the program, and if you’d like to apply you can do so by emailing us at events@brooklyngrangefarm.com

A virtual tour voyage!

We’ve been capturing our favorite sights and sounds around the farm all summer long and have created the closest thing we can to an in-person visit: the Brooklyn Grange virtual tour. You can now join one of our passionate and knowledgeable team members for a virtual visit to our Brooklyn Navy Yard farm, complete with space for open dialogue and Q&A. It’s perfect for curious community members, college and graduate-level student groups, and/or enthusiastic green thumbs both near and far!
